Memories of Survival & Resilience

Lillian Favel Daniels belongs to the Kawacatoose First Nation located in southern Saskatchewan. Her Cree name is Katapahwetak Eskwayo, Thunderbird Woman. Her mother was Mabel Tapequon and her father Roderick Favel. She is a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and retired teacher and principal and fortunate to practice and teach about Cree and Metis culture, language and history. Lillian can speak Cree conversationally. She is a storyteller, writer, singer and artist. 


Ms. Daniels' keynote address will focus on her life before, in and after attending Indian residential school and what it means for teachers today.
