It's a story we know all too well. Just how many loved experiences, contributions, and truths that are hidden under the racist structures that build the dominant narratives of social studies. Steven Purewal will provide an engaging and useful deep dive into the 125+ year history of Panjabi South Asian individuals who helped build this province, fought across the globe in World War One and Two while under the yoke of British imperialism and continue to resist erasure, reclaim hidden stories, and rejoice in vibrant multifaceted identities. We cannot teach the stories of these lands and build critical thinkers without including Panjabi narratives as histories equal to White narratives that still dominate.
