Using Ten Frames to Conceptually Teach Addition and Subtraction

We will explore the the power of using ten frames to conceptually teach addition and subtraction with single digits to three digits. Participants will see how these tools can be used to develop strategies that makes sense for students. We will also discuss how teachers help students make connections between concrete, pictorial, and abstract representations.
