This workshop will provide an educator with the tools to facilitate activities that can improve the social skills of their students. Through a therapeutic lens and hands on activities we will unpack social skill development and behaviors. This workshop is based on theory and best practice. Discussions and activities include, self-awareness, interpersonal relationship, behaviours, climate of the classroom, communication, cooperation and team building .

Add To My WorkshopsPatricia Dunphy comes to the conference with 35 years plus experience working within the social services and education. As an Iterant and High School Child and Youth practitioner, she was employed for thirty years with the Langley School district, and a term in Surrey. Her background includes employment at group homes, corrections, community youth care, and as a social service aide on the down east of Vancouver. Ms Dunphy holds a Bachelor of Child and Youth care from the Faculty of Human and Social development, UVic, a Diploma in Leisure studies (Therapeutic Rec) and minor credits in Theatre from Island U. Patricia is also a published author, fine artist and musician. She has used expressive therapy in her practice.
