Within the Food Explorers workshop, we will discuss how to create positive food experiences in K-1 classrooms and help your students become Food Explorers! Through opportunities for experiential learning and tasting, this curriculum-connected program supports students to see themselves as someone who enjoys food and new food experiences. Teachers have the option to purchase the teaching kit ($20), including a teacher guide, class set student materials in English or French, and recipes to bring home. Student materials are re-supplied annually for free.
As one of the registered dietitians at BC Dairy Association, Carmen promotes health in BC through leadership and innovation in nutrition education. This includes developing, evaluating and presenting programs and resources to early childhood educators & teachers across BC. Carmen is also obtaining her master’s degree in public health and social policy through the University of Victoria.
