9:30-11:30 NEEDLE FELTING, with Pearl Chow
This workshop will teach you the basic skills of need felting to learn to teach this activity to students. Make wool sculptured fruits, veggies, animals, and/or add designs to fabric. Needle felting is a portable craft taking up little space and time. Create what you imagine!
11:30-1:00 Lunch at Ruby Siam Thai Kitchen
1:00-2:00 TOUR OF THE TEXTILES CENTRE at the Museum of Surrey, with Joan Miller
Joan will take us on a tour the Textiles Centre Studio, where she will show us some machines for spinning and weaving, have a look at the Textiles Library and weather permitting, a look at the plants growing in the Textiles Dye Garden.

Hi there,
Thanks for signing up for the Home Ec Excursion workshop. We will start our day at 9:15am in Essem Textiles in Cloverdale. The address is 5625 176 Street in Surrey. There is a lot of free parking around Cloverdale but if you don't want to move your vehicle, look for free parking in the parking lots, which allow you more parking time.

You should expect about a kilometre's worth of walking through the day. All 3 locations are close to each other in Cloverdale but be prepared for rain and wear comfortable shoes. You should also bring a bag or tote bag to take home your supplies you'll receive from the needle felting workshop!
