Anger and Stress Management for Children and Youth for Professionals

 

One of the most challenging aspects of teaching is assisting our children with  anger and stress.

Children and youth with anger and stress management challenges can be helped.

Participants in this interactive workshop will learn practical methods that can assist children and youth to:

  • have less sleepless nights
  • begin the process of “rewiring” to a calmer self
  • focus
  • have fewer classroom and other outbursts
  • a better parent child relationship
  • a better teacher- child relationship

This is a practical and interactive session that will give insight and tools towards effectively helping our children and/or youth with anger and stress management.

 

 

 Participants will leave with new methods for:

  • making a, and maintaining a, connection with our child or youth
  • knowing what to say and do to create calm
  • how to create and get buy-in to consequences
  • preventing "outbursts/incidents"
  • creating improvement over time
  • supporting others  
  • working as a team with school staff and other professionals in our children’s lives

Presenter

  • Steve Andrews

    Bully Back Off was formed by Steve over 18 years ago. He has worked with children and teens for over 25 years, and has over 6 years of post- secondary education. He is widely known as a consultant on youth related challenges. 

    His work has received much positive recognition, including awards from; the Solicitor General’s Office for Community Safety, The Society for Children and Youth Award for Child and Youth Friendly Communities, and A Youth Action Award from The BC Attorney General’s Office, along with several other community, corporate, and society awards.

    He is a regular presenter at teaching professionals and other conferences, as well as teaching Anti-Bullying and Stress/Anger Management Skills directly to; professionals, students, and parents on a weekly basis. He has enjoyed teaching College level-Child and Youth Care Counselling and being an Instructor/Counsellor at several alternate schools. In addition he has been a Youth Services Coordinator and a Counsellor in many B.C. Municipalities.

    Currently he is a Child/Youth and Family Coordinator/Counsellor in the Fraser Valley, and continues to offer workshops throughout the province.
