We will be sharing some our our assessment practice and creative processes. We will look at a variety of examples and projects that support our practice. We encourage our participants to come with examples of their assessment and lessons. Be prepared to share, give feedback and hopefully to be inspired.

Add To My WorkshopsI've been an Art Educator for the Surrey School District since 2001. I've been teaching Visual Arts at Ecole Salish Secondary for the past 5 years. Before then I was teaching at Frank Hurt Secondary for 16 years. I've been very lucky to be (and have been) Fine Arts Department Head for 16 years. Working with other Fine Arts areas in creating collaboration opportunities is one of my passions. I've also had the opportunity to mentor new teachers for the district, as well as for SFU and UBC. I have facilitated dozens of workshops for local and provincial educational associations. In the past couple of years, I have been facilitating art workshops for elementary educators in the Surrey School District. In these workshops, I introduced a variety of contemporary children’s books; along with art lessons that teachers could do in their students. I'm also a member and President of the Surrey Arts Teachers Association, as well as BC Art Teacher’s Association Graduation Curriculum Rep. At home I try to continue my art practice, but in reality, spend as much time as I can with my family.
