Vocabulary - A Key to Comprehension (Part 2: Morphology & Generative Vocabulary)

What is morphology? What’s going on with English spelling? How can I support my ELL students?

This session will focus on a basic understanding of how the English language works with a deeper exploration of morphology and its connection to word meaning and comprehension of text. We will explore how an understanding of Anglo-Saxon, Latin, and Greek word parts can unlock a wealth of generative vocabulary and spelling knowledge for students.

A variety of instructional activities, classroom-ready strategies  and resources will be shared.

(This workshop is session 3 from the afterschool vocabulary series presented in February.)
