In 2002 the World Health Organization stated, “this will be the first generation of children who will die before their parents due to preventable nutritional diseases.” This was the statement that sparked the development of NSTEP. We support students, teachers, AND parents in developing healthy habits for life. NSTEP provides fun and interactive nutrition and activity education to students, teachers, and families making a positive change in the health of our communities. NSTEP is a comprehensive school health initiative but our strength is that we have integrated core curriculum Math, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts. In this hand-on discussion, participants will learn how they can easily apply health education to their students and become health champions in their school community.
