POWER PLAY - Primary Math Games for Place Value and Number Lines

Place value is at the heart of mathematics and forms the foundation for all other concepts taught in primary.  Come prepared to play and learn effective strategies for the following place value concepts:  comparing, reading, composing/decomposing 10's/1's and hundred's/10's/1s, using 100 and 1 000 number lines to estimate sums and differences, patterns using number lines, count on and back from benchmark nearest 10 and 100's expanding and rounding numbers.  Games will incorporate the use of cards, number lines, place value dice, regular dice and shakers.  Handout will include gameboards, concept skill checklists for assessment for immediate use.
