Soft Starts: Setting Foundations for Learning

Before students can learn, they must feel connected to, respected by and understood in the classroom community. Daily soft starts and mindful listening give us time to build relationships for learning and provide rich information that informs our teaching decisions. In this session, we will discuss how soft starts allow us to give a stronger voice to the learners in our room, attend to SEL and inform emergent curriculum.
