Are you looking for ways to introduce your students to their community’s history? Through this workshop, teachers will learn how to do just that. The Surrey Archives houses maps, photos, oral histories and more that document Surrey’s transformation into the city we see today. During this talk delivered by archives staff, attendees will learn about the Surrey Archives’ collection, services and outreach activities and how these can be used to enhance lesson planning.

Stacey N. Gilkinson holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, and a Masters of Information in Archives and Records Management. She has held several positions with the City of Surrey Archives, serving as Assistant Archivist since 2019.
Chelsea Christensen began her career at the City of Surrey Archives in 2011 and held various positions until appointment as Archivist in 2015. She holds a Masters of Archival Studies, a Masters of Library and Information Studies, a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction, and a Certificate in the Liberal Arts.
